An Inspiring Story: “Dad, Why am I Different??“

"Ayah, Mengapa Aku Berbeda??” or "Dad, why am I different??" is one of most touching movie I ever seen. It’s an Indonesian best seller novel based on.

There was a man accompanies his wife for maternity process on hospital. That woman gave birth to beautiful baby girl after complicated maternity process which cause her died. The man was very deeply hurt, but he tried to be strong because his wife gave him a beautiful baby girl. He gave name "Angel" to the baby girl, similar with like his wife's name.

inspiring story, touching story, difference, beautiful girl, deaf and dumb, silence
In age of three years old, the man realized there was something wrong with Angel. She didn't response to voice and even never said anything like normally three years old kid. She was very silent and passive. His dad and grandma brought her to doctor and they were very shocked founding their girl were dumb and deaf –not able to speak nor to listen.

His father and grandmother decided to buy her a hearing aid for dumb and deaf. Slowly, Angel responded to voice and learnt to say something. It was not easy for her, but her father did not give up. He was very happy that finally listen her first word from his daughter and saw her smile happy. He taught her playing piano to make his girl happy and more responsive to voice and music. Angel loved it. Day by day, piano is Angel's best friend. She always plays piano anytime at home.

When she grew up, her dad sent her to 'Sekolah Luar Biasa' or 'Dumb and Deaf School'. In that school she doesn't feel different because all of her friends were dumb and deaf too and they learnt how to communicate on their own way, also learnt science. After couple semester, her teacher advised her dad to send Angel to general school on Jakarta, because teacher thought Angel is very special and smart, eventhough she couldn’t speak and listen normally.

After long discussion, finally her dad and grandmother agreed bring her to general school on Jakarta. Jakarta is modern city on Indonesia. Comparing to her previous place, Jakarta will be more difficult for her to stay and associate with others. People will not as friendly as on her old place too. But her dad believes Angel will be able to pass it. The chief of school rejected Angel when she registered at the first time. Her dad convinced the chief to accept her couple of times. After examined Angel and saw her potential, the chief finally accepted her with agreement that Angel will be dropped out if she couldn't learn as well as normal student.

Great, Angel can study as well as normal student. At school, many students under estimated her and not often bullied her, attack her and hurt her. One moment, even group of friends injured her hands and fingers so that she couldn’t play piano for a while. She often cried for it, but it won't stop her. She also continued to play piano and even working part time as pianist at cafe.

One day, she joined to Pianist Festival Competition to play classic piano. She was doubt her self because she never play classic piano, but her music teacher told her that she can make it and willing to guide her. Challenge was accepted!

When she would go on stage, her enemy at school bullied her by smearing her face using lipstick and weird make up. Her face turned into the clown! She was looks so mess and dull and people laughed on her when she first appeared on stage. She cried, but show must go on. She played the classic piano with tears on her face and awkward make up. One two three.. Piano was played. She played it very well touching and hypnotizes people. People didn't care anymore with her awkward make up after she was successfully showing her talent through beautiful composition in the twang of piano. Audience stood up and clapped their hands. In the end, she won this festival!

Yes, YOU CAN MAKE IT!
Whoever you are, you can make your dream comes true and jumps anywhere you want to. You have to believe in yourself. Don’t curse yourself for your weakness. Nobody’s perfect! Living in silence told Angel many things about life. She is same like all of us, but she may stronger in facing problem than anyone else.

Your Behavior Affects Other’s Life

Your Behavior Effects Other
( April 26th 2012 )
Six months ago, Neena still worked at our office as our office girl ( cleaning service ). She is humble, mature and really nice woman. She’s 25 years old, and married. No one realized how much this job was very important for her exactly. She is workaholic. But sometimes, in big company, workaholic is not a big deal. You have to be good looking and know how to pursue your boss or have high position at office. While, she was just good employee in silence, people don’t even realize she is exist as our office girl. She may be just a topic when people gossiping. People had something else to do, but complaining other’s responsibility was one of their favorite things to do.

Diana was one of the senior in office. She is temperamental girl, sensitive and known as the selfish one. Sometimes people know her as mature person, but when she gets angry, she’ll be the one who burn a house. One thing I regret was when she put her anger to Neena. There was nothing wrong with Neena, she did her job very well. But Diana gone mad when saw her sit relax for a while or talk to the employee. She acted like killer boss who didn’t allow the employee to breath in. It was her right, wasn’t it?? Who said the cleaning service didn’t allow sitting down or speaking to others? It’s only her rule!

story, true story, story about life, behaviour, behave, misbehave, girl, sitting alone, waiting, river

One day, Neena was sick. She can’t go to work as well. She got ill for about three days. Diana was feel disturbed with Neena absence and said to the boss that Neena was lying and Neena only pretended about her health condition.

Diana’s persuasion was so succeed. Neena was drop out of the office. I’m the first person who felt hurt for her. Nobody knows how weight of her burdened. Now she is jobless. Her husband was unemployed too and also temperamental. Her parent was divorced since her father marrying other woman. Her husband always told her that she comes from misbehave family and her father was kind of prostitute man. Before she retired, the situation of her family was already broken, but after retired everything getting worse and worst. Her life becomes much more worse because there was no salary for her daily life. Her husband was really stupid man, he only blame Neena every day. He had no shame, he never realize that feed family should be his responsibility.

Four month after retired from job, Neena getting more frustrated, frustrated with her husband, family and gave up of searching new job. Actually she have been working once again after retired from our company, but her family problem made her hard to concentrate to new job and felt so desperate. Her salary was very low, but her unemployed husband didn’t understand and just give her additional pressure. She can’t stand anymore. She plan to divorce from her husband and run out of town to leave her problem and feel new atmosphere. She hope it can change situation

“Divorce would never been a good choice, God even hates it. But for this I support you, Neena, you’re still so young, you don’t even have any kids. You have many chance and opportunity. You deserve for someone better. Follow your heart and decide by yourself, I’m behind you”, I said to her.

She cried. She asked me what was she has done until her life became so miserable. I said to her that she must be strong, she can pass this and everything will be fine. She wish to leave the town but I advice her to stay since I know exactly she was not ready yet for an experience in other place. She’s very innocent woman.

Every time I remember her, I remember Diana. May be she never know what happen with Neena after retired and definitely I can’t blame her for what happen with Neena now, but I can’t deny, Diana contributed on Neena’s life. At least Neena will be stronger than she were now if she’s still on our office. At least I’m still on her side anytime she needs shoulder to cry on. Now I’m getting hard to contact her, she sold her cell phone to pay her loan. She also has to feed her family since her father left.

I’m sad, but I won’t blame anyone for her situation. I don’t want to be another version of Diana. This gave me some education about how to treat other. Sometimes our behavior gave impact for other’s life. I know this just simple, but you never know how much this hurt anyone.

Ali and The Gadget

>  Read This Previous Story : You are The King?? Hell, NO Ali!!!

Gadget fever is attack!!
Classic cell phone is weird out and replace with the new version called The Smart Phone. Blackberry is one of the those luxury and classy and make people become so busy. Ali is influence with the neighborhood. When blackberry hits, then he buy blackberry. It’s easy for him to afford that.

gadget, gadget fever, arrogant, snob, talkative, duckIt only works for months. Yeah, at last we know that now tablet is the king. Most of the people start leaving Blackberry for tablet. He’s so envy with people who start buying their first tablet. It’s so noisy when people talk about this silly thing. Now, he plans to sell his blackberry and buy one of the expensive tablet. He made the shout out as well, so all of his neighbor knows if he will have an expensive table in this close time. So, then, people will up date him the latest expansive gadget. We know he always tries to be classy, never look as the classy one though! :D.

Woowww… he’s so surprising! So, the tablet is really expansive. He remembers as this month he has multiple task to settle his previous debt. But he knows it’s all about pride. All the people know he will buy tablet, he doesn’t want to make a shame. He said, “I will buy that purchase this month! No delay because you know who I am!”. Wooow… so brave or arrogant? May be both!

Ali is confused, but his wife said that better don’t buy the tablet because she thinks that blackberry is enough. And she also considered that the feature of tablet is not suitable with his need which is rarely using internet or another smart feature of tablet. Ali deny it, he doesn’t want to be shame. That’s it!

No choice, Ali decide to buy it by credit it to the reputable store. It’s good solution, I guess. At least he succeed to cover his shame by having tablet as the target. Great! Congratulation, Ali!! # brrrrrr….. the audience clap the hands.

This morning, people just knows that he has the tablet. He is still so new so that he can’t understand all the feature and confuse how to operate. He told us that actually he don’t really need this tablet but only spend his money for it. Oh, hay, another arrogant statement! Does it mean this is totally for a pride? Oh, no!

You are The King?? Hell, NO Ali!!!

Ali, The Big Mouth
24/8/2011

Ø  Read This Previous Story : Ali, The Big Mouth

Today, I want to shout out:  Ali is annoying, very annoying!

October 25th 2011
Here it is. At date 25 of each month, we’ll receive our salary and over time fee. Like most of outsourcing employee, we’ll receive our salary and over time fee separately. Salary will directly sent to bank account from the vendor, while over time must be taken by supervisor, that is Mr. Wahyu. Unfortunately, Mr. Wahyu is out of town for two weeks. We should receive our over time fee before payment closing date at end of month. In other side, I will take some days off in the beginning of month in order to attend my sister’s wedding. Not only me, my friends also wished over time come on time since it’s our right and part of our need.

Rifa, the payment officer, would never allow us to take our own over time since her rule is must the permanent employee taking it, not the outsourcing employee. I think she’s one of worst payment officer that our company had!!. She never tried to be flexible but keep on her stupid principle while the old payment officer allowed the outsourcing employee take their own over time when the PIC is not available.

The only option is asking other permanent employee which the level is under of Mr. Wahyu to take it. Sadly, it must be Ali. Okay, this time I need his help. He sit next to me, so I wish his understanding and sincerely helping us to get our money as soon as possible.

I hate to say this, but, I have no choice, okay let’s tell Ali for some help, “hey, dude, I need your help, would you like to help me with over time fee?”. He looks so busy with his computer, do not turn his head but keep his eyes to his document and type an email, “Okay..okay… I will take it later”.

Thank you, that makes me feel so good and calm down. Thought I’m not really sure, because he doesn’t look taking it as a serious thing. No…no… I try to have positive thinking about him now, sometimes he’s a good guy too.

October 26th 2011
Monday to Friday, our office hours end at 4 pm. I wait for the good news from Ali, but I didn’t see him yet. It’s about 3 pm now, I could not find him. I think he’s not too busy this time since he has assistant that always did almost all of his work. Well, I guess he’s out of office now. It’s okay if he doesn’t take our over time now. At least we still have 4 days remaining before closing date.

***

October 29th 2011
Yeah, this is Saturday. I work right from Monday till Saturday like any non- government company in Indonesia, but Saturday we’d have shorter office hours, that is stop until 2 pm. I’m still disappointed since I didn’t receive my over time fee yet. Yes, Ali is way too arrogant!I had ask him many times for this case –I can’t remember how many times I said “please, help taking our overtime fee”-  , but he acts like he’s too busy man and don’t have the time. If you want to know, it’s very simple to take our over time since our cashier must had prepared it and it only takes about five minutes! In the same time, he quickly helps our sales girl, Rossa, who is known as sexy and rich girl in our office, repair the trouble in her computer. Anyway, Rossa is the sales manager candidate, and that’s why I understand why Ali so excited to help her, but heartless to help us. He is so selective to help people. OMG!!!

arrogance, snob, silence, annoyingI need that money, my friends need that money too. May be it’s not big amount for him, but for me it’s very worthy. How hurt seeing him help someone who is just say “please help me” once but then get very quick response, while I and friends beg for his help many times for something which is our right and we really deserve for that, he just ignored us. I want to angry to him, really!! I also want to angry with our payment officer, how not flexible she is! Why can she just break her line when many people critic her for being over??

***

October 31th 2011
Wooww… something inspire me! Why I keep asking someone who don’t want to help me?? All my action is just make Ali feel like everybody need him and he thought ( again and many times ) that he’s important employee in our office. Hell noooooooooooooooo….. Ali!! You have been here for 7 years more but you keep on this seat, no up grade position and else, so what’s thing can make you proud??. Anyway, Mr. Wahyu is about 3 years old younger than him and just starting working in this company 5 years ago, but now his position higher than Ali. This is the difference, Ali is about himself while Mr. Wahyu is truly care helping each other without seeing grade. That’s why Ali is always left behind beside his big mouth.

Come back, I have an idea to ask Mr. Ono to take our over time. I think our payment officer will allow him to take our over time fee since he’s the permanent employee. Mr. Ono is our senior, dedicated his 7 years for this company. He’s simple man and friendly, and currently as the foreman in our office. At the same time, he asks my help to do some work which is out of his ability. I help him and he helps me sincerely. My prediction is true! It’s only take a short of minutes. Oh, thank you. This guy helps me!

This month I received my over time fee at October 31th 2011. It’s about 2 pm, almost closing time!! Thank you, Mr. Ono! Go to hell, Ali!

Ain’t Everything can be Learnt??

2011/ 2012 sounded too awful for me! I guess 10 years back is better place and opportunity to grow where people tend to put their focus on quality than “quantity”. Life must go on, try to make everything balance toward technology advanced, but then….. money start to be king of everything.

rant, learning, writing, complain, disappointment Raising the small thing, Turning down the bigger one. By 2012 you won’t reach anything without strong foundation of economic sector. Money really works so hard here. When you start to studying, first you have to own money, your ability to catch the lesson is second importance. To be the doctor, the collage is worth so expensive and you could not afford it just by your big curiosity and intelligence. And even to be the employee with medium benefit from reputable company, you need to afford high education before entering the gateway. You won’t be in trouble when your family is strong in financial, but how about the smart student who could not afford for such as high education?? Should he say good bye for sweet dream? Should he give up on the middle of road? Should he pray harder and look up the sky everyday? And when he sent application letter to his dream company, the director will send him rejection letter, “Sorry, kids, You don’t have enough certificate level we need to join our company”.

This is joke. You would never listen the story of “modern” Einstein and the new of ‘Soichiro Honda’ who created magic and inspiring life with their wonderful fight. It seems like people tend to forget that anything can be learn and everyone deserves for the same chance. The same chance.
Let’s look up the sky and see what God will say about this.
